dimethyl dodecyl thioic propylene betaine - Introduction
N,N-dimethyl-N-dodecylthiopropylidene betaine (N,N-Dimethyl-N-dodecylsulfanylethoxypropanaminium betaine) is a surfactant, commonly abbreviated as SB-12. It has the following properties:
-Appearance: A white to yellowish solid or powder
-Solubility: well dissolved in water
-Surface activity: has good surface activity and emulsifying properties
-Stability: It has good stability to changes in temperature and environment
N,N-dimethyl-N-dodecylsulfylidene betaine is commonly used in the following areas:
-Surfactants: Can be used in detergents, softeners, shampoos and hair care products
-Emulsifier: can be used to prepare lotions and creams
-Dispersant: Can be used to disperse dyes and pigments
-Auxiliaries: used as auxiliaries for coloring agents in the textile and leather industries
-Antistatic agent: with antistatic and anti-corrosion properties, can be used for surface treatment of electronic products and optical equipment
The preparation method of N,N-dimethyl-N-dodecylsulfylidene betaine is usually carried out by the following steps:
1. the corresponding sulfate and ethyl ammonium chloride reaction, generate chloroethyl ammonium sulfate.
2. react chloroethylammonium sulfate with the corresponding N,N-dimethyl -1-dodecyl aminopropane to generate N,N-dimethyl-N-dodecyl thiopropylidene betaine.
There are some safety information to note when using and handling N,N-dimethyl-N-dodecylthiopropylidene betaine:
-Avoid contact with skin and eyes, wear appropriate protective gloves and goggles when using.
-Avoid inhaling the vapor of its powder or solution, and operate in a well-ventilated environment.
-If ingested accidentally or breathing difficulties occur, seek medical attention immediately and inform the doctor of the name of the chemical used.
